Former South African bowling allrounder Johan Botha has been appointed as head coach for the upcoming Caribbean Premier league from the Guyana Amazon Warriors franchise. The Guyana national team and West Indies A Team Manager Rayon Griffith was named his assistant.
“I really enjoyed my time with the Hero CPL as a player, and I can’t wait to get underway as a coach,” said Botha. “The squad that the Amazon Warriors have put together for this year is really impressive and I am sure we will be challenging for the title at the end of the season.”
If we look at the stats of him then he recently played in CPL from the Trinbago knight Riders in 2015. Apart of them, He is also provide a coach role for the Islamabad United and Multan Sultans T20 franchise of Pakistan super league – PSL. By playing from the home country of south africa he took 126 wickets in all three formats from the 2006-2012 cricket career.
“The management of the franchise puts in continuous effort to do things differently with the aim of winning the title. After getting so close over the years we are delighted to have Johan and Rayon at the helm of our coaching staff this year. They are both very professional and are very much involved in cricket coaching and development and are expected to bring new ideas and initiatives to the team set-up,” said team and operations Manager of the Guyana Amazon Warriors, Omar Khan.
Sixth Edition of 2018 Caribbean Premier League will be begin from the 8th August and runs until 16th september.
